Concept designs
In close cooperation with our clients we can provide concept designs with the highest return on investment and the best performance.
Very often the value of a good concept design is underestimated. Design4Dredgers strongly believes in a good concept design as the key to a successfull investment and to a swift building process.
These concept designs can be used as input for the basic design.
Tendering
contracting
Design4Dredgers can assist shipowners, shipyards or other parties during the tendering phase of a new building project.
In this phase changes are made to the concept by shipowners and/or shipyards for commercial and/or technical reasons.
Also the makerlist is proposed at this stage.
D4D can assist to safeguard the sound concept design in this stage. Finally D4D can assist in setting up the building contract between owner, shipyard and or third parties
Support during newbuilding
Design4Dredgers can supply support during newbuilding of vessels on several levels such as:
- setting up and managing the
document control system required
during engineering and building
- Setting up a building supervisory
team and assist this team during the
new building
- Setting up detailed building
schedules of complex vessels
Commissioning
A lot of shipyards have little or no experience in the precommissioning and commissioning of complex vessels like dredgers.
Design4Dredgers assits shipyards by making up a detailed commissioning planning, setup a commissioning team, managing the commissioning on site and safeguard that the technical requirements of the specification are achieved and demonstrated to the owner.
Basic/detailed engineering
Two very important stages in a new building project are the basic and the detailed engineering. A good supervision of the basic engineering, with respect to content and timing is essential for a successfull project course. The detailed design is mostly done by the shipyard or a local engineering company. The translation of the specific basic design of dredgers into the detailed design requires a lot of guidance of the unexperienced local engineering company to prevent mistakes are made during this translation. In both basic and detailed engineering of complex dredging and ofshore vessels, Design4Dredgers has gained a lot of experience over the last 20 years and can assist shipowners, shipyards, engineering companies or other parties to control these processes.
Advisory services
Design4Dredgers can provide
advisory services to shipowners (on technical and dredging aspects) on board of dredging vessels, prepare major repairs and follow up repairs in dry-dock​
